Electrocardiogram (EKG) Technician
The EKG Technician program prepares individuals to perform confidently and efficiently in a job where they are responsible for performing diagnostic tests to access the heart rhythm and rate in patients. The EKG Technician performs diagnostic tests related to the heart’s electrical impulses. The pattern and signals noted on the paper print-out can tell the physician information about a person’s heart; whether it is normal, if the person is experiencing electrical problems, under strain, or damaged.
EKG’s are performed in many settings: pre and post operations, during physicals, for patients with history of heart disease, when patients are experiencing chest pains and whenever a physician deems it necessary. The well-trained EKG technician is an integral part of the management of patients with heart disease. Students will be eligible to take the State and/or National Certification Exam for Electrocardiogram Technician.

Student Testimonials
I was so happy that I made the decision to go back to school and learn a trade. I enrolled in the CNA program for evening classes and loved the instructor. Made great friends and now I’m doing the PCT. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me. I owe PMC for having great staff to teach me.

I took the CNA class starting 4/16/2018. I jumped in & started the class. My teacher Ms. Walker was great!!! She told us stories, gave examples, explained things repeatedly to make sure we got it. The hours worked well for me as I was working too. Office & systems could be a little more organized and uniformed, but overall good school!!!
